Wait Times: go early, when it opens, or you'll wait

Menu: Solid American breakfast, the kids' menu is solid, particularly if you are a fan of 'Mickey Mouse" pancakes. And let it be known, this is the first place in NINE YEARS, I've had a waiter say out loud, "I really like kids", in a genuine, non creepy way.

La Boulangerie

Wait Times: Sometimes a line forms at it is counter service. 

Menu: Great french cafe food for a great price.  My kids love the sandwiches and pastries.  We often buy items to go as they pack well.

Wait Times: go early or you will wait

Menu: A solid traditional American breakfast and efficient service.

Wait Times: counter service, sometimes a line but it moves quickly

Menu: Great french cafe food for a great price.  My kids love the sandwiches and pastries.

Paxti's Pizza

Wait Times: none if you go early or get delivery

Menu: The crust of this deep dish pizza is dreamy AND they have lactose free cheese

El Farolito

Menu: Really good mission burritos.  As in classic, really good, mission burritos.

Bi-Rite (take out)

Location: 550 Divisadero Street 

Wait Times: grocery store

Menu:  A gourmet grocery that sells great bread, hummus, cold cuts and fruit.  You'll be shocked what you spend but you'll be happy with the meal.

El Matate

Wait Times: Not long

Menu: Yummy Cal-Mex with fresh salsa and friendly service.  One reason why we like this place is there is lots of room to sit down.  Counter service.

Urban Putt

Wait Times: 

Menu: Play indoor mini golf inside a renovated Victorian and the food is surprisingly good.

Menu: Really yummy German food.  My kids love the potato pancakes, apple sauce and sausage.  No exclusive kids' menu

Burma SuperStar

Location: 309 Clement Street

Wait Times: Always a bit of a wait-expect 30 minutes around average 

Menu: This menu is dreamy-the coconut rice, the flaky crust of the burmese samusas, shan noodles (a bit spicy) and sweet and tangy sesame noodles. So good!

New Eritrea

Location: 907 Irving Street

Wait Times: Never! 

Menu: We love the food here served on a big platter-family style.  It's really good and the service is friendly.

Foreign Cinema (has a kids' menu!)

Location: 2534 Mission Street

Wait Times: Make a reservation

Menu: Not sure where to start, the menu is vast, changes frequently and is divine. One of the best meals I've ever had in San Francisco with a beautiful patio.  Check the film list first to make sure it is kid friendly.

Yank Sing 

Website: Yank Sing

Price: $$$

Location: 49 Stevenson and now at 101 Spear Street 

Wait Times: 10-15 minutes, larger parties, make a reservation

Menu: The pork dumplings are dreamy. While I'm not the most adventurous eater, Yank Sing makes my dim sum heart sing.
